The European Association for Creativity and Innovation (EACI) and the Academy of Humanities and Economics are pleased to invite academics, practitioners, trainers and managers to take part in the the 9 th European Conference of Creativity and Innovation "Transformations"(ECCI-9), 4-7 of September .

The hosting organisation of this bi-annual conference will be the Academy of Humanities and Economics (AHE) in Lodz, Poland . The conference is going to be one of the biggest events devoted to creativity and innovation and gather prominent specialists in the issues, as well as academic lecturers, scientists, consultants and coaches from all over the world. The subject of the conference will be "Transformations" understood as changes which have occurred in economy, politics, social life and in the understanding of creativity and innovativeness as ideas which help in personal, group and business development. At the 9 th European Conference on Creativity and Innovation we want academic input on these and more questions and want to hear from experiences with this phenomena. Participants will learn from positive solutions in companies, in other organisations and institutions. They will also discover the conditions under which transformations have taken place, learn to understand the problems people have to deal with, and hopefully find some best practices which can be a strong stimulus for new innovations, better creativity and further transformations.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Academics are asked to deliver papers concerning the understanding of creativity phenomenon, the process of personal development as well as the process of group and society evolution.

Practitioners may present overstandard achievements in the fields of creativity and innovation proving that companies and other institutions can develop effectively.

Trainers of creative abilities are welcome to display techniques and tools useful in personal and group development as well as special methods and strategies which facilitate creative progress.

FORMS OF PAPERS:

Each academic, practitioner or trainer is asked to prepare a presentation suitable for a 30-minute session (a 20-minute speech plus a 10-minute discussion)

In same cases practitioners may apply for 45-minute up to 60-minute workshops which are exceptionalafter approval of the conference board.

We ask each active participant to deliver an abstract of a presentation:

250 words (or 1600 signs) for 30-minute sessions

500 words (or 3200 signs) for 60- minute sessions ,

together with a short bio plus a photo.

Papers and bios will be issued as conference materials.

This year the organizers introduce an innovation which are THEME GROUPS

opening each conference day. Participants are asked to choose one of the THEME GROUPS they would like to attend every day to learn creative activity.

Leading Transformation A Personal Path to Guiding Innovation and Change

In this program we will embark on a creative leadership exploration with the aim of promoting transformation in oneself and others. If leadership is defined as living from your truest self and contributing in service, we all have a leadership opportunity and responsibility our leadership callings. Together we will explore how we can respond to our leadership callings through awakened creativity, wisdom and spirit.

Questions that will guide our exploration include:

How does personal transformation promote organizational/system transformation?

What happens when you lead from what's unchanging within you, in the midst of change around you?

How to fully engage your creative spirit and inspire others to do the same?

Through our time together, we aim to experience these learning outcomes :

  • Greater self-knowledge and application of your creative leadership abilities

  • Greater ability to unleash creative potential in yourself and others

  • Stronger alignment with your leadership values and vision for change

  • Improved decision making through skills in reflection and insight

  • Increased ability to create shared meaning within complexity

  • Increased ability to foster a creative climates within your teams/organizations

  • Applied action planning for successful integration of your learning into your work and life

"Conventional management deals with workers' energy and competences but subject-centered leadership enhances the members of a team to think and act creatively with the awareness of being responsible for the quality of their activity and its effect-the final product.

Basic tools used in subject-centered leadership are:

  • personal ability of a manager to treat workers as autonomous subjects

  • audit- subject-centered management of a small group or department in a company

  • strategy formulating understood as transition of responsibility for the final effect on a company and its board

During the workshop all the tools will be presented and practiced. Their effectiveness will be proved by presenting successful activities and products of firms on the market."

"During this workshop we will explore transformations within organizations that have happened or are currently going to occur. We will shortly investigate general guildelines and concentrate mainly on personal beliefs and attitudes towards transforming organizations and how this affects the approach and outcomes. We will connect this to general approaches to further enhancement of personal effectiveness during transformations."

"Four families of tools and techniques of creativity" Colette Chambon and Guy Aznar

"Presentation of a specific classification of the most important divergent creativity techniques according to their symbolic function. We will present 4 categories linked to the symbolic of the elements: Techniques of fire, earth, air and water. In each category participants will be able to experiment interactively key techniques for the category in order to better understand the different strategies for divergence according to the different types of problem to solve. The interactive quality of this workshop requires no more than 18 participants ."
